What is Grok?
Grok is best known for real-time answers that draw on the web and on posts on X, and it is built into the X app as well as its own apps. Grok Imagine creates images and videos, and voice mode lets you talk to it.
The current flagship model is Grok 4.6, released on August 12, 2026 and available on every plan, including the free tier. Grok Build is SpaceXAI's coding tool, and Grok Bot, launched in beta in August 2026, runs agents with their own cloud computer on SuperGrok plans.
SpaceX acquired xAI in February 2026, and the AI business now operates as SpaceXAI; Grok kept its name. The free plan has limited usage, SuperGrok costs $30 a month and SuperGrok Plus $100 a month, and SuperGrok Lite, SuperGrok Heavy and business plans are also available.
